Sheryl Sandberg, who led online sales of Google's AdSense and AdWords products, has left the hunt giant to join Facebook as chief operating officer.In the role, Sandberg will help Facebook scale up its sales, selling, public policy, and other operations, while facilitating the company's global enlargement, a major gross priority for the firm. Facebook recently named Mike potato to lead its global ad sales attempt when it announced the going of chief gross officer Owen Van Natta. Sandberg unofficially replaces Van Natta according to study, though Facebook wasn't available to confirm that by press time. Sandberg oversaw Google's online sales transmission channel, which business relationship for the great bulk of the company's AdWords and AdSense sales to small and mid-sized businesses. While Facebook has not yet signaled any particular ad web ambitions, the company could be well positioned to deliver ads based on its users' geographic, demographic, and behavioral data while they're visiting spouse sites. Zuckerberg and company may also look to Sandberg to generate marketer acceptance of the referral-based advertising merchandise, Social Ads, introduced back in Nov. Anecdotal study suggest the merchandise has struggled to reach consumers in critical numbers typically demanded by large advertisers. In a statement attributed to Global Sales SVP Omid Kordestani, Google said it promoted David Fischer to replace Sandberg as a VP of online sales and operations. "Sheryl was a valued member of the Google team and we wish her well in her new endeavors," said the statement. "We have a deep management bench at Google and are delighted that David Fischer, who has been such an important part of the growth of this world-wide organization, will assume responsibility for Google's global online sales and operations." |
